If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I have been trying the Vue De Pulang frozen facial moisturizer. Apparently, this moisturizer went viral on Tiki Tok with over half a million views. However, I found this moisturizer through an article on allure.com. You can read the article here. So with all the hype, I knew I had to give it a try. I started using this moisturizer two weeks ago – both day and night. Here are my thoughts…
When I opened my package, the lotion went right to the freezer…overnight. The next morning, I pulled the lotion out and it was a shaved ice consistency. Makes sense, the first ingredient in this lotion is water. Well, fun in theory to put your facial lotion in the freezer, but quite annoying scrapping it out of the container. So, I tried the lotion at room temp and the novelty to use the lotion disappeared. I did a bit more research, read a few more reviews, and found a suggestion to keep the lotion out of the freezer until about three hours prior to use. I gave that a try. Three hours prior to use, I placed the lotion into the freezer and when I went to pull it out, it was the perfect consistency. Problem….you have to remember to actually put the lotion back into the freezer.
Let’s get into the ingredients. There’s several I like including niacinamide and witch hazel. niacinamide has tons of good for your skin benefits. Some of those benefits include: minimizing poor appearance, treating acne, and treating hyperpigmentation. Witch hazel helps reduce inflammation. I have to say, the best part about using this lotion was the way it made my under eyes feel early in the morning – it got rid of the you’re just waking up with that puffy, inflamed, under eye feeling.
Getting into my opinion overall. This lotion was a great addition to my morning skincare routine. As I said in the above paragraph, I really loved the way it felt around my under eye area – like a big splash of ice water to wake you up (lol). It had a tacky consistency making it excellent to use under makeup and I replaced both my eye cream AND makeup primer with this lotion. The downfall….it simply was not enough for a night time cream. I woke up each morning feeling I needed more moisture on my face. During my nighttime skin care routine, I do lather my skin in thick moisturizing cream. And I also felt it did nothing for my hyperpigmentation around my cheek area. DISCLAIMER: I do have very serious hyperpigmentation and acne scarring. The only product I’ve found to work I will link here. Not sure if I will be purchasing again, I just feel I need a bit more in a facial lotion. I will be posting my favorites below. To save this post from being any longer, I won’t go into detail about my favorite facial lotions, but if you’re interested, check out my weekly wrap up at the end of the week! I’ll add a few little tid bits about each lotion in that weekly wrap up post.
What’s the next product you would like me to test out?! Reach out and we can give something else a shot!
