You may remember, several weeks ago, I put up a poll on Fall Fashion Trends. Well, I took the results from this blog and Instagram and used them to focus my Fall fashion shopping! I was able to get some really great pieces at really great prices. For the first blog of October, I’m going to share what I purchased and how I’m wearing the piece. I’ve also found similar on trend items and will be linking them! I’m excited! Let’s do this!
- Pink – Definitely a popular color this season and I’m okay with it! I chose this neon pink color, but any shade of pink will do. This AQUA CROPPED CARDIGAN is from Bloomingdale’s – it was inspired by another cardigan I had my eye on (I loved the look, but not the price point hehe) you can check out that cardigan HERE. It’s true to size and a cropped length, making it a great option to wear with high waisted jeans or a high waisted skirt. I paired it with this brown leather Free People skirt and boots I’ve had in my closet for years. Both skirt and boots are no longer sold online, but I found a similar skirt from Abercrombie HERE (on clearance for $34.99) and similar Free People Boots HERE. I really love pairing the color pink with a contrast color like the dark brown I’m wearing or black. Check out this SATIN PINK LONG SLEEVE from Lulus, too. I’m leaving outfit details and some other pink options below.
- Slip Dresses – Throw a different texture (such as a leather jacket or chunky sweater) overtop a silk or satin slip dress and your look is automatically elevated. This COWL NECK SATIN SLIP DRESS is $16 from SHEIN (true to size), it also comes in black, green and pink. I paired it with my QUILTED SLIDE HEELED SANDALS from Express. Leaving several other slip dress options below, but I’m really loving this OPEN TIE BACK SLIP MIDI DRESS from Abercrombie.
- Oversized Headbands – This one may not totally be for everyone, but I really love adding different hair accessories to my look. Keep your hair down and pushed back with this PUFFY BRAIDED SATIN HEADBAND from Anthropologie. It comes in several different colors. Or toss your hair back in a low pony tail or bun and keep the headband a center of attention accessory. The brand Lele Sadoughi seems to be killing the headband game, but they are an investment. I’m linking one below, but also several other more affordable options as well.
Although the next two trends are nothing new, they seem to come back year after year. The pieces I’m wearing above are great options at affordable prices, but if I were to splurge on any of these trends, I would splurge on a nice plaid blazer or a pair of leather boots for fall. They just never seem to go out of style!
- Plaid Blazer – A staple piece for any closet. Cropped, fitted or oversized, you really can’t go wrong with a plaid blazer. You can wear a blazer with a pair of faux leather leggings or throw it over a sweatshirt with jeans for a more casual look. The one I’m wearing above is from Amazon. You can find it HERE. It’s okay, but to be totally honest, not the best quality. Like I said before, I would be okay with spending on this trend. So, maybe a nice quality blazer will be on my list this season!
- Leather – another never going out of style trend. Add a jacket, pants, leggings, bag or boots and I promise you will somehow find a way to wear them year after year. Check out these HUE LEATHER LEGGINGS from Bloomingdale’s. Currently 25% off during Bloomingdales friends and family sale. I am wearing a size medium with the blazer above, but you can also toss an oversized sweater over top these leggings. Complete the look with these LEATHER BLACK BOOTS from Madden Girl, purchased at DSW. I sized up half a size (with boots like these, I like wearing socks), the black pair I’m wearing in the photo above are $59.99 and they’re available in several different colors. You can check out my leather picks below.
- Sweater Vests & Dresses – 90’s are back with the sweater vest trend and I’m loving it! You can wear on its own, over top a collared shirt, long sleeve, OR wear it in dress form like I am above. I’m really loving this TARGET SWEATER VEST which comes in several different patterns and is only $20! This CHUNKY KNIT SWEATER DRESS was $26 on the SHEIN website. I paired this dress with these SOLE SOCIETY BOOTS from Amazon. I had my eye on a pair for over $200, but I got lucky and found this pair on Amazon for $69! They’re soft, comfortable and great quality. Leaving several sweater vests & dresses below.
- Shirt Dresses – Layered underneath the sweater dress, I’m wearing a white, button down SHIRT DRESS from SHEIN. It’s on sale for $14! You can’t go wrong. This is such an easy trend. Throw it on with sneakers or over the knee boots and you have an outfit. Check out this PLAID SHIRT DRESS from ASOS (currently over 30% off).
- Fringe – Out of all the trends, I’d say this was the one people were the most “on the fence” about, but I think I found some cute pieces! Including this FRINGE SWEATER from Pink Lily Boutique. It’s $48 and great quality. This sweater is a comfortable, oversized fit and I thought the cable knit front was cute. I was even able to pair it with my COGNAC SNEAKERS from my Target Try-On! Stay tuned for my Wishlist Outfit of the Week where I feature fringe as well.
- Distressed Denim – Another oldie, but goodie. Distressed denim is back for Fall 2021. These days, almost every jean brand has a pair and you may already have a pair in your closet. You can literally wear them with anything. These are the ABERCROMBIE HIGH RISE DAD JEANS. They’re true to size and also come in short and long length. I’m also intrigued by THIS PAIR from Target for only $22.
- Rich Patterns – Ok, to be honest, this is one of my favorite trends for the season! I love pairing a rich fall color with a bold pattern like this dress shown above. This AQUA DRESS is from Bloomingdales and currently 25% off with Bloomingdale’s friends and family sale. Spoiler Alert – I’m wearing this to an upcoming wedding!
- Quilted Jackets/Coats – The quilted look is ALL over this season for cute reason. It’s cute and comfy. This QUILTED PUFFER JACKET is just under $50 from H&M, but I’m really loving THIS ONE from Amazon and THIS ONE from Target.
- Structured Bags – This TARGET BAG makes another special guest appearance and is currently my most used bag in my closet. It comes in many different colors and right now, it’s on clearance for under $30. A structured bag is classic and adds polish to any look. Check out the WILLIS BAG from Coach. A timeless bag you’ll have forever and always.
- Lug Sole Boots – I’m loving this trend and I’m loving THESE from Nordstrom’s. Definitely think they will look great with my distressed jeans as well. I’m also really loving this MICHAEL KORS pair, too.
- Sherpa – comfy and cozy sherpa rounds off the list and it’s another favorite of mine! This BLANK NYC SHERPA is no longer available in this color, but it is available in brown and black. I’m really loving this TARGET SHERPA and I have heart eyes for this Marc Jacobs SHEARLING BAG.
There you have it! Fall fashion you’ll be seeing everywhere this year. Pick and choose, mix and match or dig through your closet and see what you have. I’d love to hear what trends you’ll be wearing this season!

My hair feels smooth and soft after I use this and you need the tiniest bit! This week’s blog post featured 14 trends for the Fall. If you missed it, click HERE. […]
