If you follow me on Instagram, you may remember several weeks ago I created a poll for a Target vs. Old Navy try on session. Well, everyone overwhelmingly chose Target AND for good reason. Good quality at a great price. If you’ve been following me since the spring, you may remember a previous Target try on as well. Still, to this day it’s one of my most popular posts.
I have five outfits from Target to get you through Monday – Friday. Five outfits for just under $250 – can’t beat it. Several pieces you can dress up or down. I also paired different items with other items I already had in my closet. From workwear to casual I’ve got you covered. As usual, I’m going to be completely honest, too! Spoiler alert, I did not like everything I tried on. Let’s jump in…
This may be my favorite outfit! I think it’s the perfect Fall transition outfit for the office. Let’s start with the top. This crewneck, cable knit sweater is $20 on the Target website. It comes in three different colors: black, cream and brown. This sweater is still in stock in most sizes. I’m wearing my normal size medium, but I could have sized down to a small. The ribbed bottom hem helps give your waist shape. you could either tuck it into pants or use the ribbed hem to fold over and make it look like it’s tucked in. One heads up… the arm holes are long so you will need to wear a tank underneath. Wear a black tank to match a pair of black pants or a nude color too. You could wear this top with a variety of bottoms like the gray drawstring ankle pants I have on here. These pants literally fit like sweatpants and they’re just as comfy too. This style pattern (gray) is still fully in stock and these pants come in several different colors and patterns as well. The drawstring waist and pockets give these pants extra comfort. They’re $20 and I’m wearing them in my usual size medium. I even wore these pants the other day with a black tank and the outfit still looked put together. As the weather gets cooler, you can toss a cardigan over too. I paired this outfit with my black BP sandals (sold out, but linking a similar pair) and my white structured bag also from Target. The bag is on clearance right now for $29.97 and available in several different colors. Carry this bag with the top handles or use the strap for a shoulder bag.
On the opposite side of the outfit spectrum, you can get these comfies (top and bottom sold as separates) for just $35. The sleeveless muscle tank is made of sweatshirt material on the inside. The material on the shoulders sort of folds in and creates an almost shoulder pad look with the bottom hem giving some structure, it’s very flattering! I ordered the top in my usual size, it’s fully stocked and available in purple, teal and cream. It is cropped, but pairing the top with the high waisted jogger pants completed the outfit. My favorite part of the whole outfit is the adjustable drawstring. I sized up one (to a large) for a more comfy, cozy fit. And check out these cloud sides on Amazon! They’re made of cloud foam and theee comfiest. I know they’re not for everyone, but they were a bargain and great for just throwing on when I need to run out of the house or take Franklin for a walk.
Next, we have this chambray top paired with black leather pants. I’m wearing the top in a size medium and it’s still fully in stock on the Target website for $29.99. It’s also available in an acid wash black (which I think is so cute!) and a floral print as well. Heads up for laundry purposes…this top is 100% cotton and before I actually wear it out, the ruffles at the top will need to be steamed. I thought I could also wear this top with the plaid joggers shown before as well. You could even create a full denim look and wear this top with a jean skirt or denim pants. For now and for the try on, I wore the top with these faux leather black pants with an elastic waist. They’re so comfy and dress up the chambray top a bit. They’re $20 and I sized down to a small. Also available in brown and fully stocked. You can also keep it a bit more casual and wear with a white top and sneakers, but for this look I chose my tan open toe Express sandals.
I ordered this houndstooth open front cardigan in a size medium. It’s $39.99 on the target website and also comes in a beautiful olive green and black. Fully stocked. It is sooo comfy. My only problem is how large it is and where it falls length wise. It just engulfs me! If I were any shorter I don’t know if I could wear it. I love the pattern, love the color and love how comfortable it is so, I will be keeping it, but I’m 5’4″ and just a heads up about the length if you’re any shorter than I am! Layer it over jeans and a tee for running errands or over black leggings and a tank with black boots like I did.
I ordered this short sleeve shirt dress in a size medium. It’s $39.99 on Target’s website and fully stocked in this brown color. It also comes in black. To be fully transparent, I already returned it! I did not like the way it fit and did not flatter my body type. The material also didn’t look great – I think it washed out my skin tone (to be honest, the picture doesn’t even do it justice). I promise to always be fully transparent with my blog readers <3. With all this being said, a brown leather dress may be exactly what you need and if that’s the case, go ahead and give it a try! We are all different shapes, colors and sizes which is what makes influencing so wonderful. Just because it doesn’t look great on me may not necessarily mean it won’t look fantastic on you :).
Let’s get into some shoes! I did purchase these shoes to go with a few outfits shown above, but they didn’t really look how I thought they would. With that being said, I decided to keep them for the fall/winter season. I feel they will pair with several other outfits already in my closet and they were both reasonably priced.
I LOVE these taupe colored booties. They’re $29.99 and come right to the ankle. I ordered them in my usual size, size 7. They come in black, camel and a pink snake color that I think is so cool. They’re elastic and stretch with no zipper so they give a nice stretch around the ankle.
These cognac colored sneakers are also true to size and $29.99. They come in gray and white and they’re sooo comfortable. They definitely dress up the sneaker game.
And there you have it! I am set for Fall clothing from Target. If you follow me on Instagram, tune in tonight to see my Target Try on Reel and tomorrow morning when I’ll be getting on Instagram stories so you can see these pictures and a description of the outfits live :).
