We’re coming towards the end of January! It’s that time of the year, when you can feel Spring is right around the corner, but not quite yet. Unfortunately, on the east coast, we still have cold days in February, March and sometimes even April.
I’m posting this week, to share four outfits to get you through the rest of this season. I have a casual work outfit, a play-date outfit, a comfy/cozy and an athleisure look. They’re easy and budget friendly. If you’ve been following for a while, you know I like to share these try on sessions from time to time. Typically, I do one purchase from Target and one from Old Navy each season (fall/winter & spring/summer). The try on sessions are meant to be seasonal and they’re usually four different looks. Let’s get to it already!
**As of today, Jan. 26th, Old Navy is having a 35% off sale! Most of these items are 35% off at checkout.

Casual Work Look
Old Navy flannels are a must with every fall/winter order, in my opinion. They’re just as comfy as the Rails flannel shirts, but less expensive…MUCH LESS expensive. Unfortunately, this blue and green flannel is sold out, but they do have several other colorways still in stock. The white plaid flannel is still available in sizes small-large and is currently $19.97 with an extra 35% off taken at check out. The long sleeve plaid boyfriend shirt is still in stock along with the oversized plaid tunic style shirt. I order all flannels in my typical size, size medium.
Pair your flannel with these high waisted straight off white jeans. They’re available in regular, tall and petite sizes. Also $39.99 with an extra 35% off taken at checkout. They button high waist with some extra room in the hip area making them very flattering (in my opinion). I’m wearing my typical size 6.
I envisioned this outfit as a casual Friday work look for teachers or possibly in the office. Pair this outfit with a leather tote bag, stud earrings, ankle booties and you’re all set!
A Play-Date Look
This look was created with the new Mom in mind. However, even if you’re not a Mom, if you’re looking for a comfy, yet elevated from sweatpants look, this henley top and elastic waist paints are totally for you, too. If I’m being honest, most days, I’m in matching sweat sets. There are some days where we need to get out of the house and I need to get a bit more dressed. Yet I’ll still be chasing after Archie wherever it is we’re going and for those days, this is the outfit I’m thinking of.
This waffle knit long sleeve henley top is currently on sale for $27.97. It’s also available in a pink and gray-ish color. Let me tell you…it is sooo comfortable! I will say, it is a bit long (website says tunic style), but I would say it’s true to size. I tied both sides so that the shirt would sit right above the pants. This top would also be perfect with a pair of your favorite black leggings.
The high waisted utility pants are perfect if you’re chasing after your little one or if you’re going to be moving around all day. The elastic waist is forgiving, yet keeps the pants in place right above the hip. I ordered these pants in the color night owl, but they’re also available in a green, gray, black and cream color. They’re $39.99 on Old Navy’s website and I’m wearing my typical size medium.
I paired this outfit with my classic white Superga shoes. They’re one of my most worn shoes and a staple in my closet. If you don’t have a pair, any pair of white sneaker or flat will do. Throwing my diaper bag backpack over my shoulder and out the door I go!
Comfy/Cozy Outfit
My typical day in day out, outfit. Even on days when I know I’m not leaving the house, I do typically like to get “dressed.” This outfit is great because you’re comfortable all day, but if you need to run to the grocery store or run an errand you’re still “appropriate.” I also really do love a good Winter white outfit.
This thermal-knit henley is actually considered a pajama top on the Old Navy website, but I truly don’t feel much of a difference between this top and the henley from above. The material may be a bit thinner, but when paired something non-pajama, I think it’s A-OK to wear during the day (I also saw several reviews with others saying they wore it more during the day as well). The top is $19.99 on Old Navy’s website and also comes in an orange, green, pink and blue. I sized down one to a small in this top.
Pair your thermal top with these high waisted thermal jogger pants. They’re $29.99 and also come in orange, green, pink and blue. I think these joggers are SO comfy. I would also size down one (the waist seems a bit larger than other pants from Old Navy).
Toss your hair into a messy bun, slide on these Golden Goose slides and you’re good to go for the day!
Athleisure Outfit
This outfit will take you from coffee to your favorite exercise class. This belted wrap sweater ties at the waist making it very flattering. The material is also soft and comfortable. It’s $34.99 and comes in black, pink and cream. Underneath the wrap, I’m wearing the longline sports bra in the color plumeria. The sports bra hits right above the belly button and when wearing high waisted leggings it’s actually quite flattering! It provides great support as well. This sports bra is $20 and comes in sooo many different colors. I actually have this sports bra in color copper moon, too! You may remember it from my previous Old Navy try on.
The stirrup leggings are EXTRA high waisted. Which, in my opinion, make them EXTRA comfortable. You can’t see with the boots on, but they do have a stirrup bottom that adjusts to fit over your foot. Love this feature – leggings that stay in place with boots anyone?!
And a close up of the faux fur lined sherpa boots! They look like UGG boots – minus the price. Right now, these boots are $38 on the Old Navy website and also come in black. Cute AND comfy!
