Looking for a quick dessert to bring to your Easter family gathering? Look no further! I found these cookie bars (of course) while scrolling Pinterest the other day. This recipe is from the blog passion for savings. I made a few tweaks of my own and got a SUPER tasty, sweet treat.
And if cookie bars are not for you, check out my Quick (And Fairly Simple) No Bake Reese’s Pie blog! It’s another good one for chocolate lovers everywhere.
You Need:
- 1/2 c melted salted butter
- 1 1/2 c crushed graham crackers
- 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 c chocolate chips
- 1/2 c quick cook oats
- 1 c butterscotch chips (my grocery store did not have! I used heath bar crumbles)
- 1 c Easter M&M’s (my grocery store also did not have. I used “M&M Easter eggs”)
- parchment paper
- 9X13 oven safe dish
Also, you can substitute peanut butter chips, add coconut flakes or nut of your choice!
How To
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- mix together melted butter and crushed graham cracker until combined
- line the bottom of 9X13 pan with parchment paper
- press down graham cracker mix to bottom of dish evenly
- pour condensed milk over graham cracker mixture
- layer on toppings in this order: oatmeal, chocolate chips, heath bar, Easter M&M’s
- bake for 25-30 minutes. 25 minutes was good in my oven!
What I Would Do Differently
- the heath bar crunch tasted just fine, but I REALLY think it would taste great if you stuck with the butterscotch or peanut butter chips.
- I wish I added more M&M eggs for more color. Because I used the M&M eggs instead of the smaller, regular M&M I didn’t get as much of the festive Easter color as I wanted to.
